How can we help?

Answers to common questions, and a real person if you need one.

Email us

We usually reply within two working days.

support@coggy.app

Please don't send health details by email. We don't need them to help you, and your record is private to your phone.

Getting started

How do I sign in?

Use Sign in with Apple, or type your email address and we'll send you a 6-digit code. There are no passwords to remember.

My sign-in code hasn't arrived

Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure the email address is spelled right.

A code works for 10 minutes and only once. You can ask for up to 5 codes an hour. If you hit the limit, wait a little and try again.

Do I have to track periods?

No. Pick what you want to follow, whether that's regular periods, changing cycles, menopause symptoms or just how you feel. You can change it any time in Settings.

Your data

Where is my information kept?

On your phone. If backup is on, a locked copy is kept on our server so you can get it back on a new phone. We can't open that copy. The privacy policy explains it in full.

I got a new phone. How do I get my record back?

Install Coggy and sign in the same way you did before (Apple or the same email). If iCloud Keychain is on, your record comes back by itself.

If iCloud Keychain is off, you'll be asked for your recovery key. Coggy offers you one after your first couple of weeks, and you can make one any time in Settings → Privacy & data. Keep it somewhere safe, like a password manager.

I lost my recovery key

If iCloud Keychain is on, you don't need it. Your phone keeps the key for you. While you can still open Coggy on a phone you're signed in on, you can make a new recovery key in Settings → Privacy & data. We can't make one for you, because we never hold your key.

How do I turn backup off?

Go to Settings → Privacy & data and switch backup off. This erases your backup from our server. Your phone then holds the only copy, so if you lose the phone, your record goes with it.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Privacy & data → Export. You'll get a CSV file you can open in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets. This works even if your subscription has ended.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Privacy & data and choose delete. Everything is wiped from your phone straight away and from our server within 30 days. If you sign back in within 7 days, the deletion is cancelled.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. See below for how to do that.

Turn off usage counts

Go to Settings → Privacy & data and switch off usage counts. These never include anything you log, but you can still turn them off.

Apple Health

What does Coggy take from Apple Health?

Only your period and spotting history, and only if you say yes. Coggy reads it; it never writes anything back into Apple Health.

How do I connect or disconnect Apple Health?

Open the Health app, tap your picture at the top, then Apps → Coggy, and switch each item on or off. To remove what Coggy already brought in, use Settings → Privacy & data in Coggy.

Subscription

How much does Coggy cost?

30 days free, then £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year. Prices in other countries are set by the App Store.

How do I cancel?

Apple handles subscriptions. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Coggy, and tap Cancel. Cancel at least a day before your trial ends to avoid being charged.

What happens to my record if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. You can still open Coggy to see your history, export it or delete it. Tracking and new check-ins pause until you subscribe again, and everything picks up where you left off.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the Coggy purchase.

I paid but Coggy doesn't know

Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you paid with, and that you have an internet connection. Then open Coggy again. If it still doesn't work, email us.

About Coggy

Is Coggy a medical app?

No. Coggy is a wellbeing tracker. It shows what you've logged, in your own words and numbers. It doesn't diagnose anything or give medical advice. If you're worried about your health, please talk to a doctor or other health professional.

Is Coggy a cat or a dog?

Some people see a cat, some see a dog. Coggy is happy either way.

What happens if I miss days?

Nothing bad. There are no streaks to lose and no "failed" days. When you come back, Coggy is just glad to see you.

Who can use Coggy?

Adults aged 18 and over, with an iPhone.
